Report: Sharks extend McLellan's contract
Jun 12, 2013 - 5:08 PM (Sports Network) - The San Jose Sharks have reportedly extended the contract of head coach Todd McLellan.TSN of Canada reported the news Wednesday.
McLellan has been behind San Jose's bench for the past five seasons, compiling a 220-108-48 record, three Pacific Division titles and back-to-back appearances in the Western Conference finals (2010, 2011).
This past season, the Sharks went 25-16-7 during the lockout-shortened campaign and swept the Vancouver Canucks in the first round, but lost to the Los Angeles Kings in seven games in the conference semifinals.
The 45-year-old McLellan became the franchise's all-time winningest coach this season, surpassing Ron Wilson's mark of 206 victories.
