Coyotes give assistant GM Treliving multi-year extension
Jun 13, 2013 - 7:09 PM Glendale, AZ (Sports Network) - The Phoenix Coyotes on Thursday signed vice president of hockey operations and assistant general manager Brad Treliving to a multi-year contract extension."We are very pleased to re-sign Brad to a multi-year contract extension," said Coyotes GM Don Maloney said. "Brad is a valuable member of our hockey operations department and has done a great job managing our AHL affiliate in Portland."
Treliving, entering his seventh season as assistant GM, joined the Coyotes in July of 2007 after serving as the president of the Central Hockey League for the previous seven years.
The 43-year-old also serves as general manager for the Pirates, who finished with a 41-30-4 record and earned a spot in the Calder Cup Playoffs. Treliving is responsible for co-founding the Western Professional Hockey League (WPHL) in 1996 and served as the league's vice president and director of hockey operations for five seasons.
"I'm thrilled to re-sign with the Coyotes," Treliving said. "I have very much enjoyed working with Don and our entire staff the past six seasons and look forward to building a winner here in the Valley."
Treliving's playing career spanned five years (1990-95), including stints in the now-defunct International Hockey League, two teams in the AHL, as well as 243 games in the ECHL.
