Horton says he will play Game 2

Jun 15, 2013 - 5:57 PM Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Boston Bruins forward Nathan Horton is expected to be in the lineup for Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals on Saturday.

Horton aggravated what has been reported to be a shoulder injury early in the first overtime of Game 1 and did not return. He said that he feels good and is ready to go following the team's morning skate on Saturday.

Boston coach Claude Julien had a similar message when he spoke to the media.

"He feels really good, looks really good; no reason at all why he shouldn't play tonight," Julien said.

WEEI-FM in Boston earlier this week reported that Horton has been bothered by a left shoulder subluxation, an injury he first sustained during an April 20 fight with Pittsburgh's Jarome Iginla. He missed the final five games of the regular season before returning for the playoffs.

The radio station cited a source as saying Horton has been taking injections to deal with the pain. He apparently had the shoulder popped back into place on Wednesday after leaving the contest, but was unable to return because of the pain.

Despite the injury, Horton has not missed a game this postseason and is Boston's second-leading scorer in the playoffs with 18 points. He has seven goals and 11 assists in 17 games.

The Blackhawks won in three overtimes in the opener on Wednesday.
