Capitals sign RW Clark to contract extension
Jul 18, 2007 - 4:16 PM ARLINGTON, Virginia (Ticker) -- The Washington Capitals signed right wing and team captain Chris Clark to a three-year contract extension, the team announced Wednesday.Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"Chris is a consummate professional and a terrific leader," vice president and general manager George McPhee said. "He has been an integral part of our team's growth in the past two seasons, both on and off the ice.
"We are excited that he will be a Washington Capital for many years to come."
Clark, 31, registered 30 goals and 24 assists in 74 games last season, totaling 50 tallies and 43 assists in two campaigns with the Capitals, who acquired him via trade with the Calgary Flames prior to the 2005-06 season.
