Devils re-sign LW Parise
Aug 1, 2007 - 10:49 PM NEWARK, New Jersey (Ticker) -- The New Jersey Devils on Wednesday re-signed left wing Zach Parise to a multi-year contract.Terms were not disclosed, but CBC is reporting the deal is believed to be worth $12.5 million over four years.
Last season, Parise led New Jersey with 31 goals and finished second with 62 points while playing in all 82 regular-season games. The 23-year-old added seven tallies and three assists in 11 postseason contests.
"Over the past two seasons, Zach has established himself as one of the outstanding young stars in the National Hockey League," Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello said. "We are delighted that he has re-signed a multi-year contract with us."
The 5-11, 190-pound Parise, who was drafted 17th overall in 2003, has collected 45 goals and 49 assists in 163 career games.
