Devils re-sign D Martin to multi-year deal
Aug 16, 2007 - 4:32 PM NEWARK, New Jersey (Ticker) -- The New Jersey Devils on Thursday re-signed defenseman Paul Martin to a multi-year contract.Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Martin, 26, recorded three goals and 23 assists in 82 games with the Devils last season. The 6-1 Minneapolis native also registered four assists in 11 postseason games.
"Paul Martin is an all-situations type of defenseman and has developed into one of the more talented young players in the National Hockey League," Devils president and general manager Lou Lamoriello said.
A fifth-round draft selection in 2000, Martin has played in 232 games over parts of three seasons with the Devils, collecting 14 goals and 73 assists.
