Oilers acquire Nikitin from Blue Jackets
Jun 25, 2014 - 2:23 PM Edmonton, AB (SportsNetwork.com) - The Edmonton Oilers acquired the rights to defenseman Nikita Nikitin from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick in 2014.Nikitin, 28, spent the last two-plus seasons with the Blue Jackets, posting 12 goals and 44 assists in 158 games.
Over his five-year career, which also included two years with the St. Louis Blues, Nikitin has 13 goals and 52 assists in 206 games.
His best point production came in the 2011-12 season, when he posted seven goals and 25 assists for 32 points in 54 games with Columbus after being acquired in a trade from St. Louis.
