Panthers agree to two-year deal with Gudbranson
Jul 10, 2014 - 5:16 PM Sunrise, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Florida Panthers and defenseman Erik Gudbranson have agreed to a two-year contract.Financial terms for the former first-round pick were not disclosed.
Gudbranson was selected by Florida with the third overall choice in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft and has compiled five goals with 16 assists for 21 points in 169 games with the Panthers.
"Erik is an important part of our young core of talented players who we are pleased to have signed," said Panthers general manager Dale Tallon in a statement Thursday. "He is a big, strong and physical defenseman who is one of the building blocks for our team. We look forward to his continued development and his contributions to the South Florida community."
The 22-year-old Ottawa native recorded three goals with six assists for nine points to go along with 114 penalty minutes in 65 games last season.
