Isles, de Haan agree on 3-year deal
Jul 15, 2014 - 8:37 PM Uniondale, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Islanders and defenseman Calvin de Haan agreed to terms on a three-year contract on Tuesday.The 23-year-old participated in 51 games during his first full NHL campaign last season, totaling three goals and 13 assists with 30 penalty minutes.
A first-round pick of the Isles in the 2009 draft, de Haan has logged 52 games with New York over the last two seasons.
In other roster moves, the Islanders waived forward Kirill Kabanov and agreed to terms on a two-year contract with forward Casey Cizikas.
Cizikas, 23, picked up six goals and 16 points in 80 games for the franchise this past season. In 140 games over parts of the last three seasons, the Toronto native has compiled 12 goals and 23 assists.
