Veteran D Sarich injured in bike accident
Jul 24, 2014 - 1:53 AM Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Veteran NHL defenseman Cory Sarich remains in a Calgary hospital after being seriously hurt after his bicycle he was riding collided with a car.CTV in Calgary reports Sarich, who is an unrestricted free agent, suffered multiple broken vertebrae and a severe case of road rash. The accident happened in the resort town of Invermere, British Columbia, according to the TV station.
"Tks to everyone who has shown their love and support for my family. Tks for understanding the lack of contact from us during this time," Sarich said via Twitter.
Sarich added on Twitter that he "will most likely make a full recovery."
The 35-year-old Sarich has played in 969 career NHL games, including 54 for the Colorado Avalanche last season when he had a goal and nine assists.
