Coyotes' Boedker sidelined indefinitely
Jan 19, 2015 - 10:03 PM Glendale, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - The Arizona Coyotes may be facing an extended absence from forward Mikkel Boedker after the team's leading goal scorer sustained an upper-body injury in its last game. The Coyotes announced Monday that Boedker, who tops the club with 14 goals, is week-to-week with the injury, which occurred during Sunday's 4-3 shootout loss at Winnipeg.
Boedker has not missed a game since the 2010-11 campaign, having played in 257 straight including Sunday's tilt. The streak is the fourth-longest in franchise history.
The 2008 first-round pick is on pace to better his previous career best of 19 goals set last season, while Boedker's 28 points in 2014-15 ranks third among Arizona players.
Arizona will have a week-long break for the NHL All-Star Game after visiting Chicago on Tuesday.
