Canadiens pick up Smith-Pelly from Ducks for Sekac
Feb 24, 2015 - 4:34 PM Montreal, QC (SportsNetwork.com) - The Montreal Canadiens acquired right wing Devante Smith-Pelly from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for left wing Jiri Sekac on Tuesday.Smith-Pelly had five goals and 12 assists for 17 points in 54 games for the Ducks this season. The 22-year-old Ontario native has 14 goals and 40 points in 129 regular-season games since making his NHL debut in 2011-12.
Sekac, who joined the Canadiens as a free agent last July, has seven goals and nine assists for 16 points in 50 games this season. The 22-year-old Czech native is in his first NHL season.
