Lightning acquire Coburn from Flyers

Mar 2, 2015 - 1:26 PM Tampa, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Tampa Bay Lighting acquired defenseman Braydon Coburn from the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday in exchange for defenseman Radko Gudas and a pair of picks in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

The Flyers will receive a first-round choice and a third-round selection in June for Coburn, a 2003 first-round pick of the Atlanta Thrashers who was in his ninth season with Philadelphia.

Coburn had just one goal and eight assists for nine points in 39 games this season. He has compiled 37 goals and 129 assists for 166 points in 614 NHL games with the Thrashers and Flyers.

The 30-year-old veteran also has two goals and 23 points in 72 career postseason games.

Gudas, just 24 years old, has two goals and three assists for five points in 31 games this season. He was selected by Tampa Bay with a third-round pick in the 2010 draft and has seven goals and 32 points in 126 NHL games, all with the Lightning.

Should Tampa Bay fail to qualify for the playoffs and wind up with the first overall pick of the draft, the Flyers would instead receive the New York Rangers' first-round pick, which Tampa Bay had previously acquired.
