Isles D Hamonic out indefinitely
Apr 14, 2015 - 8:15 PM Uniondale, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - New York Islanders defenseman Travis Hamonic will not be in the lineup as his club begins their first-round playoff series against the Washington Capitals.Newsday reported Tuesday that Isles head coach Jack Capuano said Hamonic suffered an undisclosed injury for which there's no immediate timetable for recovery.
The 24-year-old Manitoba native completed his fifth NHL season by tying a career high with five goals and setting new personal bests of 28 assists and 33 points over 71 contests.
Calvin de Haan will be in the lineup in Hamonic's place. He missed two weeks at the end of the year as a healthy scratch, then came back to play in the club's regular-season finale, a shootout loss to Columbus last Saturday.
No one has shouted yet.
