Sabres, C Hecht agree to terms on four-year contract extension
Oct 16, 2007 - 5:05 PM BUFFALO, New York (Ticker) -- The Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday agreed to terms with center Jochen Hecht on a four-year contract extension.Financial terms were not disclosed, but TSN of Canada reported that the deal is worth $14.1 million. Hecht is scheduled to make $2.35 million this season.
The extension will keep Hecht, 30, in Buffalo through the 2011-12 campaign.
A nine-year veteran, Hecht has gotten off to a good start this season, collecting two goals and two assists in five games.
A second-round draft selection in 1995, Hecht has 112 tallies and 186 assists in 478 career games with the Sabres, Edmonton Oilers and St. Louis Blues. He also represented his native Germany in the 1998 and 2002 Winter Olympics.
