Hurricanes RW Walker leaves Friday's game vs. Penguins

Oct 20, 2007 - 1:37 AM PITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- Carolina Hurricanes right wing Scott Walker left Friday's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins with 2:34 remaining in the second period with what was described as a torso injury.

Walker, who grabbed his stomach after a collision earlier in the session, did so again while on his knees near Carolina's bench with just over 2 1/2 minutes to go, causing a stoppage in play. The 34-year-old was attended to by team trainers while a stretcher was brought out, but Walker returned to the locker room under his own power.

Walker was taken to a local hospital for observation.

In seven games this season, including Friday, Walker has recorded a goal and two assists.
