Devils hire Schneider as scout, Rissmiller development coach
Aug 26, 2015 - 5:20 PM NEWARK, N.J. (AP) The New Jersey Devils have hired Andy Schneider as an amateur scout and Patrick Rissmiller as a development coach.Executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero announced the moves Wednesday.
Schneider, 43, joins the Devils after serving three seasons as a scout for the Columbus Blue Jackets. He began his post-playing career in 2011-12 as an assistant coach with Swift Current (WHL). Schneider played 18 seasons professionally, including 10 in Germany.
Rissmiller, 36, joins the Devils following a 13-season professional playing career, including the past two seasons for Ritten Renon (Italy), which won the 2013-14 championship. He spent six seasons, 2002-03 through 2007-08 with the Sharks' organization, including three seasons, 2005-06 to 2007-08, in the NHL.
