Report: Red Wings re-sign C Draper to three-year deal
Oct 26, 2007 - 5:04 AM TORONTO (Ticker) -- The Detroit Red Wings signed center Kris Draper to a three-year contract extension, according to a report Thursday by TSN of Canada.The deal, according to the report, will pay the former Selke Trophy winner $1.85 million next season, $1.65 million in 2009-10 and $1.25 million the following campaign.
Draper, 36, has five goals in 10 games this season. He has registered 137 tallies and 302 points in 895 career NHL contests.
Acquired from Winnipeg after the 1992-93 season, Draper has been a mainstay on one of the league's perennial powers.
Draper helped the Red Wings win three Stanley Cups in his 13 seasons with the club, in addition to winning the Selke Trophy as the best defensive forward in the league in 2004.
