Flyers D Hatcher to undergo knee surgery; miss 3-4 weeks
Oct 31, 2007 - 7:27 PM VOORHEES, New Jersey (Ticker) -- Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Derian Hatcher will undergo left knee surgery and miss three to four weeks, the team announced Wednesday.Hatcher will have the operation performed Thursday.
Last Wednesday, Hatcher had his string of 107 consecutive games played snapped. He returned and played just over 27 minutes in Saturday's 2-1 win at Boston.
Hatcher has registered two assists in nine games this season for the Flyers (7-3-0), who lead the Atlantic Division.
The Flyers also announced that left wing Simon Gagne will not travel with the team for Thursday night's games at Montreal. He is expected to miss at two more games because of the vision problems and dizziness he's experiencing from a hard hit last week.
On Wednesday, the Flyers also recalled defenseman Nate Guenin from Philadelphia of the American Hockey League. He played in nine games for the Flyers last season, collecting a pair of assists.
