Islanders G DiPietro leaves Saturday's game

Nov 4, 2007 - 12:40 AM UNIONDALE, New York (Ticker) -- New York Islanders goaltender Rick DiPietro left Saturday's game against Pittsburgh with 6:04 remaining in the second period after being high-sticked by Penguins captain Sidney Crosby.

Crosby was skating past the crease when his stick caught DiPietro near the right eye. The netminder was attended to by the team trainer and left the ice with a small cut near the eye.

Wade Dubielewicz replaced DiPietro in net for the Islanders.

The reigning Hart Trophy winner, Crosby received a double-minor for high-sticking.
