Oilers recall D Rourke, assign D Young

Nov 8, 2007 - 11:49 PM EDMONTON, Alberta (Ticker) -- The Edmonton Oilers made a pair of roster moves Thursday, recalling Allan Rourke from Springfield of the American Hockey League and assigning fellow defenseman Bryan Young to the Falcons.

Rourke, who was acquired from the New York Islanders on July 5, has recorded three goals and four assists in 12 games with Springfield this season. A sixth-round pick of Toronto in 1998, the 27-year-old has notched one tally, five points and 26 penalty minutes in 42 career NHL contests with Carolina Hurricanes and Islanders.

Young, 21, was recalled from the Falcons on Sunday and appeared in two games for the Oilers, failing to record a point. In 12 contests with Springfield this campaign, he has collected one assist and 12 penalty minutes.
