Flames D Pardy eyes debut

Dec 7, 2007 - 11:58 PM CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) -- With defenseman Robyn Regehr out with a fractured foot, Adam Pardy expects to be inserted into the Calgary Flames' lineup when they return to the ice to face the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday.

"I have to realize it's a huge possibility," said Pardy, who was recalled from Quad City of the American Hockey League on Monday. "It's going to be exciting, and I can't wait to get in there and get in the lineup.

"I just have to focus on what I can do and what I'm here for."

A sixth-round pick in 2004, Pardy has registered two goals and six assists in 24 games with Quad City this campaign.

The 23-year-old native of Bonavista, Newfoundland is expected to fill in for Regehr, who was hit in the foot with a shot during the second period of Thursday's shootout loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Regehr, 27, has notched three goals, four assists and 18 penalty minutes in 29 games this season.

The 19th overall pick in the 1998 draft, Regehr has collected 23 goals, 85 assists and 530 penalty minutes in 538 career contests with the Flames.
