Hurricanes RW Walker suspended
Dec 13, 2007 - 11:50 PM TORONTO (Ticker) -- Scott Walker obviously did not use his head the correct way.One day after head-butting Ottawa's Mike Fisher, Walker on Thursday was suspended one game without pay by the National Hockey League.
The right wing will miss Friday's contest against the Calgary Flames.
During a fight just 51 seconds into the second period of Tuesday's 6-0 loss to the Senators, Walker was involved in a fight with Fisher, head-butting the center in the face. Walker received a five-minute major for fighting and match penalty for attempt to injure.
By being suspended without pay, Walker will surrender $13,368.98 in salary.
