Iginla headlines Three Stars
Dec 17, 2007 - 8:38 PM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Calgary Flames right wing Jarome Iginla, who scored a pair of game-winning goals last week, was named the NHL's "First Star of the Week" on Monday.Also honored was Dallas Stars defenseman Sergei Zubov and Philadelphia Flyers right wing Joffrey Lupul.
Iginla scored a league-leading seven goals last week as Calgary won four consecutive road games. He netted three goals, including the game-winner, in a 9-6 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday.
The Flames captain also tallied his second four-point game of the week with two goals and two assists, including the game-winning tally, in a 5-3 win over the St. Louis Blues on Sunday.
Zubov earned "Second Star" status after scoring a goal and tallying seven assists in helping the Stars post three consecutive victories.
Lupul scored 10 points in four games to capture the "Third Star" award. He recorded career highs of three goals and three assists in an 8-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday.
