Capitals sign LW Fleischmann
Feb 13, 2008 - 5:22 PM ARLINGTON, Virginia (Ticker) -- The Washington Capitals on Wednesday signed left wing Tomas Fleischmann, who is in his first full season with the team, to a two-year contract.Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
After seeing limited duty for the Capitals the past two years, Fleischmann has played in 53 games this season, registering six goals and 15 assists.
A native of the Czech Republic, Fleischmann was taken by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2002 draft. He was traded to the Capitals on February 24, 2004.
In 2006, Fleischmann was the leading scorer in the American Hockey League playoffs, helping the Hershey Bears win the Calder Cup.
