Report: Ducks RW Perry out six weeks
Mar 7, 2008 - 5:59 PM TORONTO (Ticker) -- Anaheim Ducks right wing Corey Perry will miss at least six weeks while recovering from a laceration to his knee, according to a report Friday by TSN of Canada.Perry suffered the injury midway through the third period of Thursday's 1-0 loss to the Colorado Avalanche. While driving to the net, Perry was cut by the skate of Avalanche goaltender Jose Theodore.
The long-term absence of Perry would create a serious void for the reigning Stanley Cup champion Ducks (38-25-7), who currently are third in the Pacific Division with 83 points - four behind the first-place Dallas Stars (41-24-5).
Perry, 22, has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with Anaheim, scoring a team-leading 29 goals and adding 25 assists in 70 games.
Anaheim has won 11 of its last 14 games but has been shut out in each of its last two contests.
No one has shouted yet.
