Flyers sign three to contracts

Mar 19, 2008 - 10:15 PM PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- The Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday signed right wings Rob Bellamy and Matt Clackson and goaltender Michael-Lee Teslak to entry-level contracts.

Financial terms were not disclosed and all three players will report to the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League.

"Rob Bellamy and Matt Clackson are similar players," Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren said. "Both are energy guys. They skate very well and like to play an aggressive style of hockey. We think that they are suited for the new game somewhere down the road. ... Their NHL contracts do not kick in until July 1, 2008."

"Michael-Lee Teslak is a goalie who had an outstanding career at Michigan Tech University. He is a guy who we think of very highly. He's a big, tall and a very athletic kid. He has some excellent potential."

Bellamy, 22, recorded five goals and 13 assists in 33 games as an assistant captain for the University of Maine this season.

Clackson, 22, notched three goals, three assists and 87 penalty minutes in 35 games for Western Michigan.

Teslak, 22, posted an 8-11-14 record with a 2.20 goals-against average in 25 games for Michigan Tech.
