Getzlaf, Giguere sit vs. Kings

Mar 27, 2008 - 2:53 AM ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) -- The Anaheim Ducks were without two key players as they looked to clinch a playoff berth on Wednesday.

Center Ryan Getzlaf and goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere, who are battling nagging injuries, did not play in the reigning Stanley Cup champions' contest against the Los Angeles Kings.

Anaheim (43-26-8) currently is fourth in the Western Conference standings and can clinch a postseason berth by earning at least one point against the Kings.

Getzlaf, the team's leading scorer with 77 points, is suffering from an upper body injury that acted up prior to Anaheim's 2-1 victory over Phoenix last Saturday night.

Giguere also missed the Ducks' previous two games with back spasms. Jonas Hiller again started in his place, while Jen-Sebastien Aubin served as Anaheim's backup.

Giguere is 33-17-6 with a 2.11 goals-against average this season.
