Hurricanes RW Eaves needs shoulder surgery

Mar 27, 2008 - 9:01 PM RALEIGH, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Carolina Hurricanes right wing Patrick Eaves needs left shoulder surgery and will miss two to three weeks, the team announced Thursday.

Eaves, 23, will have the procedure Friday at Cary Hospital.

Acquired last month in a four-player trade with the Ottawa Senators, Eaves has one goal and four assists in 11 games with the Hurricanes. The Calgary native has scored five goals and 15 points in 37 games overall this season.
