Savard, Komisarek return to action
Apr 10, 2008 - 11:43 PM MONTREAL (Ticker) -- The Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens each received a boost for Thursday's opening game of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series.Bruins center Mark Savard, who suffered a broken bone in his back on March 22, returned to the lineup after sitting out the last seven games of the regular season.
A first-time All-Star this campaign, Savard recorded 15 goals and 63 assists in 74 contests.
The Canadiens welcomed back defenseman Mike Komisarek, who returned after injuring his hip in Montreal's 4-2 victory over Boston on March 20.
Forming the Canadiens' top defensive pairing with All-Star Andrei Markov, Komisarek enjoyed a breakout campaign, notching four goals and 13 assists with 101 penalty minutes and a plus-9 rating.
