Flyers RW Knuble injured

Apr 20, 2008 - 12:31 AM WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- The Philadelphia Flyers lost more than a playoff game on Saturday.

Two days after scoring the winning goal in double-overtime of Game Four, Knuble suffered a hamstring injury in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Washington Capitals in Game Five of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series.

Flyers coach John Stevens confirmed that Knuble, who was injured in the second period, will miss at least the remainder of the quarterfinals.

"He's not going to play in the series, so we're going to have to make some adjustments to our line, bring another player in, have another look at our lines and figure it out for (Game Six on) Monday," Stevens said.

Knuble entered Saturday third on the Flyers in scoring with five points in the first four games of the series. He did not add to his two goals and three assists in Game Five.

"I thought Mike has been playing great. He's having a great series," Stevens said. "Mike's having a great year, there's no way around it. But we'll rally around the guys that are in there."

The 35-year-old Knuble collected 29 tallies and 55 points in 82 contests during the regular season.
