Kopecky undergoes knee surgery
Apr 22, 2008 - 7:33 PM DETROIT (Ticker) -- Detroit Red Wings left wing Tomas Kopecky underwent successful surgery to repair a torn ACL in his left knee, the team announced Tuesday.The surgery was performed by Dr. William Clancy in Birmingham, Alabama with Red Wings team physician Dr. Douglas Plagens on hand.
Kopecky, who suffered the injury on April 3 against the Columbus Blue Jackets, will need four to six months to recover.
The 26-year-old appeared in 77 games this season prior to the injury, tallying five goals and seven assists.
