Stars re-sign C Ott
Apr 30, 2008 - 1:36 AM FRISCO, Texas (Ticker) -- The Dallas Stars on Tuesday re-signed center Steve Ott to a two-year contract worth $2.85 million.Ott's current deal was set to expire on June 30.
"Steve Ott has done a great job of earning this contract and we are very pleased to have him secure in Dallas for the next two years," Stars co-general manager Les Jackson said. "He has developed into a valuable piece in our team chemistry and he brings a solid work ethic to our hockey club day in and day out."
Ott set a career high with 11 goals this season and tied his personal best of 22 points.
In 73 contests, the 25-year-old also collected 11 assists and a team-leading 147 penalty minutes. The 25th overall pick in 2000, Ott has registered 21 goals, 67 points and 543 penalty minutes in 273 career games.
