Red Wings D Chelios scratched
May 2, 2008 - 2:28 AM DENVER (Ticker) -- The top-seeded Detroit Red Wings were without one of their veteran defensemen in Game Four of their Western Conference semifinal series against the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday as Chris Chelios was a late scratch due to a lower body injury. The 46-year-old Chelios had appeared in all of Detroit's previous nine games this postseason, recording six penalty minutes and a plus-2 rating.
Blue-liner Andreas Lilja, who had been a healthy scratch for five of the Red Wings' previous six contests, replaced Chelios in the lineup as the Presidents' Trophy winners look to complete a sweep of the Avalanche in their best-of-seven series.
