Red Wings C Franzen out for Game Three
May 12, 2008 - 2:20 PM DETROIT (Ticker) - Detroit Red Wings center Johan Franzen willmiss Game Three of Monday's Western Conference finals seriesagainst the Dallas Stars with concussion-like symptoms.Franzen also was out of the lineup Saturday, when the Red Wingsposted 2-1 victory to to take a two-games-to-none lead in theseries.Franzen has been experiencing recurring headaches since early inthe conference semifinals against the Colorado Avalanche. The28-year-old Swede - who is in the midst of a five-gamegoal-scoring streak - experienced symptoms resembling aconcussion prior to Saturday's pregame warmup, prompting Detroitto keep him out of the lineup.The Red Wings' medical staff has recommended Franzen remain onthe sidelines until undergoing further testing, which will takeplace Monday in Detroit.Franzen leads the league with 12 goals - also a franchise record- and five game-winners this postseason. He also shares thepostseason lead with five power-play tallies and has scored 27goals in his last 27 games dating to March 2.No one has shouted yet.
