Red Wings not worried about Holmstrom

May 29, 2008 - 11:42 PM DETROIT (Ticker) - Detroit Red Wings left wing Tomas Holmstrom's injury apparently isn't a cause for concern.

The 35-year-old Holmstrom was dumped to the ice by burly defenseman Hal Gill and left Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game Three of the Stanley Cup Finals with 5:50 remaining in the third period. He did not return.

The team described the injury as a "lower-body problem" after the loss.

"He felt OK this morning," Red Wings general manager Ken Holland told the Detroit Free Press. "Sometimes in the first 24-48 hours, you get significantly worse. He wasn't any worse today, so that's a good sign."

"They said he was limping out of the arena, and I said, 'He does that a lot of times,'" Detroit's Henrik Zetterberg told the newspaper.

Holmstrom has four goals and eight assists in 19 postseason games.

The Red Wings hold a two-games-to-one advantage in the best-of-seven series with the Penguins. Game Four is Saturday in Pittsburgh.
