Holmstrom questionable for Game Four

May 30, 2008 - 9:57 PM PITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- Detroit Red Wings left wing Tomas Holmstrom is questionable for Saturday's Game Four of the Stanley Cup Finals after missing Friday's team practice.

Holmstrom, 35, left Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins with 5:50 remaining in the third period after getting knocked down by Penguins defenseman Hal Gill.

Red Wings general manager Ken Holland did not go into specifics of the injury, which is described as a "hurt right hamstring."

Holland said that Holmstrom is a "maybe" for Game Four and the team will re-evaluate the left wing on Saturday morning. But Detroit coach Mike Babcock is a little more optimistic.

"We think he'll be fine," Babcock told the Detroit Free Press. "He's a tough guy."

Holmstrom has four goals and eight assists in 19 postseason games.

The Red Wings hold a two-games-to-one advantage in the best-of-seven series with the Penguins.
