Canadiens sign C Lapierre to two-year deal
Jun 9, 2008 - 7:21 PM MONTREAL (Ticker) -- The Montreal Canadiens on Monday signed center Maxim Lapierre, who played in a career-high 53 games last season, to a two-year contract extension.Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Lapierre, 23, will begin his fourth season with the Canadiens in the fall. He posted career bests of seven goals and 11 assists this past season.
"Maxim is part of our young players who contribute to the success of our team," Montreal general manager Bob Gainey said. "The determination, grit and energy he brings are important assets that we are looking for in our young players."
