OTTAWA (Ticker) -- The Ottawa Senators on Friday signed center Chris Kelly to a contract extension.
While the team did not disclose the terms of the deal, TSN of Canada reported it was a four-year extension worth $8.5 million.
"We have an agreement. ... Both parties wanted to get the deal done," Ottawa general manager Bryan Murray said. "We were able to convince (Kelly's camp) that enough was good enough."
Kelly recorded 11 goals and 19 assists in 75 games this past season. The Toronto native missed the last seven games of the regular season and all four of Ottawa's contests against the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Eastern Conference quarterfinals with a leg injury.
A third-round pick - 94th overall - in the 1999 draft, Kelly has 36 goals and 62 assists in 243 career games.
