Senators re-sign C Kelly to contract extension
Jun 21, 2008 - 3:49 PM OTTAWA (Ticker) -- The Ottawa Senators made it official Saturday, re-signing center Chris Kelly to a four-year contract extension.Financial terms were not disclosed, but TSN of Canada on Friday reported the deal was worth $8.5 million.
Kelly recorded 11 goals and 19 assists in 75 games this past season. The Toronto native missed the last seven games of the regular campaign and all four of Ottawa's contests against the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Eastern Conference quarterfinals with a fractured right leg.
A third-round pick - 94th overall - in the 1999 draft, Kelly has 36 goals and 62 assists in 243 career games.
