Flyers acquire D Niskala from Predators
Jun 24, 2008 - 4:14 PM PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- The Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday acquired defenseman Janne Niskala from the Nashville Predators for left wing Triston Grant and a 2009 seventh-round pick.Niskala, 26, recorded 19 goals and 44 points in 80 games this past season while playing for the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League. The 6-foot, 200-pounder also was a member of the bronze medal-winning Team Finland at the 2008 World Championship.
Grant, 24, played in 12 games for the Philadelphia Phantoms in the AHL this past season, collecting a pair of assists.
