Stars sign LW Eriksson
Jun 27, 2008 - 4:50 PM FRISCO, Texas (Ticker) -- The Dallas Stars on Friday re-signed left wing Loui Eriksson to a two-year contract worth $3.2 million.The deal will pay the native of Sweden $1.5 million next season and $1.7 million in 2009-10.
"We are very pleased to sign Loui Eriksson to this new contract," Stars co-general manager Les Jackson said. "Loui really started to show some flashes of his potential last season and seems to be growing into the player we think he can be."
Eriksson, 22, played in 69 games for the Stars last season, recording 14 goals and 17 assists. He added four goals and four assists in 18 playoff contests.
The 6-1, 180-pounder was originally taken by the Stars in the second round of the 2003 draft.
