Flyers sign D Eminger
Jun 29, 2008 - 5:25 PM PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- The Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday signed defenseman Steve Eminger to a one-year contract.Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The move comes one week after the Flyers acquired Eminger, 24, in a draft day trade with the Washington Capitals.
"Steve is a young two-way defenseman that will fit nicely with our group," Philadelphia general manager Paul Holmgren said.
Eminger recorded two assists in 20 regular-season games for the Capitals last season, then contributed one goal in five playoff contests.
"I'm happy to get the deal worked out and excited to be part of the organization," said Eminger, who was taken by the Capitals in the first round of the 2002 draft. "I can't wait for the start of the season to get things going."
