PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- The Philadelphia Flyers retained a pair of restricted free agents Wednesday, re-signing defenseman Randy Jones to a two-year contract and left wing Riley Cote to a three-year deal.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

"We're very pleased to get both guys signed," Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren said. "Randy is a young player and key component of our defensive core, and can play in any type of situation. Likewise, Riley has developed tremendously over the course of last season and will continue to be an important part of this team moving forward."

Undrafted out of Clarkson University, Jones signed with Philadelphia as a free agent on July 24, 2003, one day after his 22nd birthday. The 6-2, 200-pound native of New Brunswick made his NHL debut in 2003-04 and became a regular on the Flyers' blue line in 2006-07, when he recorded four goals and 18 assists in 66 games.

Last season, Jones registered five tallies, 31 points and 58 penalty minutes in 71 contests. He has amassed nine goals and 52 assists in 170 career games.

Jones is glad to have a new deal in place and looking forward to the upcoming season.

"I think we've got a very strong club," he said. "I think we went out on a high note last year, and with the job that Homer (Holmgren) has done in the last year here has been remarkable. It's very exciting to be a part of this team."

Cote, 26, also signed with Philadelphia as an undrafted free agent in August 2005. The rugged native of Winnipeg debuted with the club in 2006-07, appearing in eight games, before cementing a spot in the lineup this past season, when he notched a goal, three assists and 202 penalty minutes in 70 contests.

"I'm extremely excited," Cote said of his new contract. "Obviously, it's an honor to be part of the Philadelphia Flyers organization for another three years, and after coming off of last season, we're going to have a great team this upcoming season. I'm just excited to be a part of it."
