Stars sign four players

FRISCO, Texas (Ticker) -- The Dallas Stars signed left wing Francis Wathier and defensemen Maxime Fortunus and Garrett Stafford to two-year contracts on Thursday.

Dallas also inked right wing Landon Wilson to a one-year deal.

Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.

A sixth-round pick in 2003, Wathier played in 15 games for Iowa of the American Hockey League last season, recording two goals and three assists. The 23-year-old missed the first 60 games of the campaign with a shoulder injury.

Fortunus, 24, skated in 65 games for Manitoba of the AHL and had eight goals and 13 assists.

The 28-year-old Stafford made his NHL debut with Detroit last season, appearing in two games. The native of Los Angeles spent the majority of the campaign with Grand Rapids of the AHL, notching 11 goals and 33 assists in 69 contests.

Wilson, who has spent the last four seasons in Europe, registered 13 goals and seven assists in 30 games for Lugano of the Swiss Elite League in 2007-08. Drafted 19th overall by Toronto in 1993, the 33-year-old son of current Stars associate coach Rick Wilson has collected 51 tallies and 111 points in 348 NHL contests with the Colorado Avalanche, Boston Bruins, Phoenix Coyotes and Pittsburgh Penguins.
