Blues re-sign C Stastny
Jul 4, 2008 - 4:49 AM ST. LOUIS (Ticker) -- The St. Louis Blues re-signed center Yan Stastny to a two-year deal Thursday.Financial terms were not disclosed.
Stastny, 25, appeared in 12 games for the Blues last season, registering one goal and one assist. He also appeared in 43 contests with Peoria of the American Hockey League, notching 13 tallies and 24 points.
"Yan can play many roles within our organization," Blues president John Davidson said. "He has skill, is great at faceoffs and can kill penalties."
The son of Hall of Famer Peter Stastny, Yan Stastny was an eighth-round pick of Boston in 2002. The Quebec native has collected two goals and six assists in 53 career games with the Edmonton Oilers, Bruins and Blues.
