TORONTO (Ticker) -- The Toronto Maple Leafs agreed to terms with newly acquired center Mikhail Grabovski on a one-year contract Friday.
Grabovski, 24, was obtained Thursday from the Montreal Canadiens for the rights to Greg Pateryn and Toronto's second-round draft selection in 2010.
The native of Potsdam, East Germany scored the first three goals of his career and recorded six assists in 24 games for the Canadiens last season. He missed 25 contests due to an ankle injury.
Grabovski also played in three games with Montreal during the 2006-07 season but failed to register a point.
