CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) -- Three days after acquiring Rene Bourque in a trade with the Chicago Blackhawks, the Calgary Flames on Friday signed the restricted free-agent left wing to a contract.
Terms were not disclosed.
Calgary had sent a conditional second-round pick to Chicago in exchange for Bourque, who recorded 10 goals and 14 assists in 62 games last season.
The 6-3, 213-pound Bourque has collected 33 tallies and 75 points in 183 contests over three campaigns with the Blackhawks after being signed as an undrafted free agent in July 2004.
Prior to signing with Chicago, the 26-year-old Bourque spent four seasons at the University of Wisconsin, where he notched 57 goals and 40 assists in 152 games.
