DENVER (Ticker) -- The Colorado Avalanche got stronger at right wing Tuesday, re-signing Cody McCormick and inking Brian Willsie to one-year contracts.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

A fifth-round pick in 2001, McCormick appeared in 40 games with Colorado last season, registering two goals, two assists and 50 penalty minutes. The 25-year-old native of Ontario has collected eight tallies and 18 points in 135 career contests with the Avalanche.

"Cody is a physical forward who plays the game hard every night," Avalanche general manager Francois Giguere said.

Selected in the sixth round of the 1996 draft by Colorado, Willsie spent last season with Los Angeles, collecting four goals and eight assists in 53 games. The 30-year-old has amassed 51 tallies and 104 points in 334 career contests with the Avalanche, Washington Capitals and Kings.

"Brian has NHL experience and is familiar with our organization," Giguere said.
