Blues sign LW Winchester, re-sign Woywitka
Jul 17, 2008 - 12:24 AM ST. LOUIS (Ticker) -- The St. Louis Blues on Wednesday signed left wing Brad Winchester and re-signed defenseman Jeff Woywitka to one-year contracts.Winchester's deal is worth $600,000, while Woywitka will receive $725,000.
Winchester, 28, scored one goal and three points while collecting 46 penalty minutes in 41 games with the Dallas Stars last season.
The 6-5 native of Madison, Wisconsin has recorded five goals and eight assists in 119 career games over parts of three seasons with the Stars and Edmonton Oilers, who selected him in the second round of the 2000 draft.
Woywitka, 24, split last season with St. Louis and Peoria of the American Hockey League. He registered two goals and a career-high eight points in 27 games with the Blues and notched 10 tallies and 30 points in 52 games with the Rivermen.
